Vendekin Technologies has acquired a 35% strategic stake in Belgium-based VBI Machines & Services BV, expanding its presence in Europe and strengthening a partnership developed over several years, according to a press release. The companies did not disclose the value of the transaction. Vendekin said the investment supports its strategy of combining its unattended retail technology with local sales, service and market expertise.
Vendekin's technology operates in more than 6,000 vending and unattended retail machines across more than 20 countries, processing more than 1 million transactions each week. Its portfolio includes smart vending machines, Myccro retrofit systems for existing equipment, digital payments, vNetra management software and the VendAIQ artificial intelligence and data platform. The companies said customers increasingly want integrated systems that connect equipment, payments, inventory management, remote operations and data analysis.
The partnership will initially focus on Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg while pursuing selected opportunities elsewhere in Europe. VBI will provide local sales, installation, technical support and after-sales service, while Vendekin will contribute its technology and product development capabilities. The companies plan to jointly present their unattended retail products and services at VendEx Amsterdam on Sept. 30.
