Smart Vend Group has expanded its svgapp smart retail platform into Uganda, according to a press release, marking the company's latest move into the African market. The deployment will focus on installing AI-powered vending machines and smart retail infrastructure in business districts, communities, schools, offices and other high-traffic locations. The platform combines automated vending, digital payments, remote device management and AI-driven inventory monitoring to improve operational efficiency and expand access to self-service retail.

The company said svgapp integrates vending machines with advertising technology, allowing the devices to function as both automated retail outlets and digital advertising platforms. Remote management tools enable operators to monitor inventory, device performance and sales across multiple locations, while AI-powered replenishment systems are designed to reduce operating costs and streamline maintenance. Smart Vend also plans to develop local operating networks and supply chain partnerships to support the rollout.

Company officials said the Uganda expansion is part of a broader strategy to grow the svgapp ecosystem throughout Africa. The company expects the platform to help create new revenue opportunities through automated retail and digital advertising as it expands across the continent.
