Southern California-based automated retail company Essentials Station is targeting janitorial service companies and commercial cleaning contractors as potential partners for its automated retail platform, according to a press release, offering them a way to generate additional revenue from customers they already serve. The company said cleaning providers have established relationships with hotels, offices, health care facilities, schools, manufacturing plants and multifamily properties, many of which could be suitable locations for unattended retail.

The Essentials Station unit is designed for locations where traditional vending machines or retail fixtures may take up too much space. Measuring about 40 inches high, 23 inches wide and 6 inches deep, the station can be stocked with personal care, hygiene and other convenience products selected for each location.

Under the partnership model, janitorial companies maintain their customer relationships and introduce the automated retail concept as an additional service. Essentials Station provides the platform, products, training, marketing materials and other support.
