The Guggenheim Museum in New York City has installed a vending machine that dispenses miniature art prints created by Brooklyn-born artist Anastasia Inciardi, according to a press release. Announced Nov. 1, the machine offers 10 designs celebrating New York City landmarks and cultural icons, including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Staten Island Ferry, yellow taxis and hot dogs. The collection also features an exclusive print depicting the museum's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building and a banana illustration inspired by Maurizio Cattelan's artwork "Comedian," currently featured in a Guggenheim exhibition.
Each print costs $1 and is dispensed randomly using tokens purchased at the museum's gift shop. The machine is located in the sixth-floor gift shop and is available during regular museum hours, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Inciardi founded Inciardi Prints in 2020 with the goal of making art more affordable and accessible. Her designs begin as hand-carved linoleum prints that are subsequently reproduced using risograph printing technology powered entirely by solar energy and using soy-based inks. Inciardi introduced her first miniature print vending machine in 2022. Her network has since expanded to more than 200 machines across the United States.
