Payment processor Finix has launched an Android-based unattended payment terminal designed for vending, parking, automated retail and other self-service environments, according to a press release. The company said the all-in-one terminal expands its payment hardware lineup and is intended to support growing demand for contactless and unattended checkout systems across retail and hospitality markets.
The terminal supports EMV chip, magnetic stripe and contactless payments, including mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Finix officials said the system was designed for high-traffic environments and includes a touchscreen interface intended to provide consumers with a familiar self-service payment experience. The terminal also comes preconfigured with the Finix Payment App and includes tools for remote device management and fleet control.
Richie Serna, CEO and co-founder of Finix, said businesses increasingly need flexible payment systems that allow customers to complete transactions quickly, whether staff is present or not. The company said the terminal package includes installation hardware, a 4G antenna and a power supply, allowing operators to deploy the systems more easily across unattended retail locations in the United States and Canada.
