Partner Tech's artificial intelligence-powered self-checkout platform has earned certification for integration with Verifone Commander, according to a press release, allowing fuel and convenience retailers to add checkout lanes without replacing existing payment, fueling, loyalty or store management systems.

The certification opens a potential market of more than 55,000 sites across North America, according to the company.

The company's Alfred, Starling and Paula terminals run its Otter software, which combines barcode scanning, computer vision and transaction monitoring. Features include automatic item recognition, theft detection, security scales and age verification support. An attendant station allows employees to monitor lanes and assist customers.

The integration supports fuel prepayments and age-restricted purchases while keeping site operations centralized through Commander. Partner Tech said the certified system is available immediately in North America and will be demonstrated at booth 6179 during the NACS Show, Oct. 7-9.
