Dryline VMS Launches AI Planogram Assist, Bringing AI to Traditional Vending Machines

Dryline VMS, from Cactus Wash Systems, today launched DrylineVMS AI Planogram Assist, now included in DrylineVMS Pro. Operators answer five short questions and AI drafts a planogram from their own products and sales, with every change marked and the reason for each slot. Operators review it, and nothing goes live until they publish it.

CAVE CREEK, Ariz. (October 9, 2026) - Dryline VMS, the vending management platform built for unattended operators, today launched DrylineVMS AI Planogram Assist, an AI feature that drafts a planogram for any vending machine from the operator's own products and sales history. AI Planogram Assist is included in DrylineVMS Pro and works on the Dryline VMS web console and in the Dryline VMS app for iPhone and Android, in English and Spanish.

Most planograms are set once and left alone, because rebuilding one from a spreadsheet takes an evening. AI Planogram Assist does the first pass. The operator answers five short questions: which machine (an existing one, or one that has not been installed yet), which products to choose from (the operator's own, or also a supplier's list), the kind of location, what the machine should sell, and the goal: profit, turns, a healthy range, quick snacks, or a balance.

In about twenty seconds, AI Planogram Assist returns:

- The machine, drawn slot by slot, with every change marked.
- Projections for sales, gross profit, margin, days to sell out, and turns, next to the same estimate for today's planogram.
- The reason for every slot, with the figure behind it, the machine and sales period it came from, and what is not known.

Operators can ask for changes in their own words, such as "more healthy options" or "keep two rows of water," and compare the new version with the one before it. A plan can be downloaded as a PDF to share with a location manager, or saved as a template for a machine that has not arrived yet.

The operator stays in charge. The AI has one job: choosing which product goes in which slot. Every price, projection, and reason on the plan is calculated by Dryline from the operator's own data. AI Planogram Assist saves a draft that goes through the same publish review as any planogram, and it never publishes a planogram, changes a price, or orders stock. Projections are estimates based on past sales. The information sent to the AI provider is limited to product names, slots, prices, costs, and sales totals, never customer or payment data.

"Vending has run on the same routines for decades, and the machines operators already own deserve better tools," said Austin Kunz, founder of Dryline VMS. "We are driving innovation into traditional vending, and AI Planogram Assist is the first step: AI that does real work, while the operator stays in charge of every machine."

Availability
AI Planogram Assist is available now to owners and admins on DrylineVMS Pro, month to month with no contract. It is found under Pro > AI Planogram Assist on the web console and Overview > AI Planogram Assist in the Dryline VMS app. Operators who are not yet on Dryline can try it on sample machines by tapping "Try the demo" in the Dryline VMS app, with no account needed, or book a 20-minute demo at drylinevms.com/demo.
