Tuckshop, a startup founded in Huntley, England, is expanding its footprint with two locations in Gloucester, bringing its total to 21 sites across Gloucestershire and neighboring counties, according to a SoGlos report.

The company is positioning itself as a new take on vending by replacing traditional packaged snacks with refrigerated machines stocked with fresh, locally made food. The concept builds on the founders' earlier work with milk and milkshake vending and continues to emphasize locally sourced offerings.

The machines feature a rotating selection of items from regional bakers and independent producers, including desserts, pastries and prepared foods such as sandwiches and sausage rolls. Open 24 hours a day, the kiosks aim to serve a wide range of consumers, from commuters to late-night workers, while also providing smaller food businesses with an additional retail channel.

Founder Jacob James told the news outlet the goal is to change perceptions of vending by focusing on quality, convenience and local sourcing rather than price. With multiple locations already operating in Gloucester and plans for further expansion, Tuckshop is building momentum as it introduces a deli-style approach to unattended retail and supports independent food producers in the region.
