A former Baltimore restaurateur is expanding into unattended retail, launching a vending business focused on fresh food options, according to a WBAL News report.

Jason Hrisanthacopoulos, who sold North Point Cafe about a year ago, now operates B'More Bites Vending and has partnered with Jimmy's Famous Seafood to offer items such as jarred pasta salad and branded potato chips. The move reflects a shift from traditional foodservice to a more flexible, technology-driven distribution model.

Hrisanthacopoulos currently operates nine high-tech vending machines across offices and warehouses in Baltimore County, including the Baltimore County Public Schools administration building. He plans to expand further, with four additional machines scheduled for delivery to new clients. The growth strategy centers on placing machines in workplace environments where demand for convenient food options remains steady.

The machines carry a mix of traditional snacks and fresh offerings, including deli sandwiches, baked goods, personal pizzas and quesadillas. Built-in refrigeration allows for a dedicated fresh food section, positioning the concept as an alternative to standard vending. Hrisanthacopoulos aims to continue broadening both placement and product variety as the business scales.
