A Singapore court has postponed the case of a 19-year-old French student accused of filming himself licking a straw from a juice vending machine and placing it back before posting the video on social media, according to an ABC News report.

The hearing was delayed until July 30 after prosecutors requested additional time to determine whether a conviction could affect the student's immigration status and ability to continue studying in Singapore.

The incident occurred March 12 at a shopping mall and led to charges of mischief and public nuisance. Following the prank, juice vending operator iJooz reported the matter to police, sanitized the machine and replaced all 500 straws. The company also announced plans to modify its vending machines by introducing individually wrapped straws and compartments that unlock only after a purchase is completed.
