Evolvending, Canteen win automated foodservice contract at MSP Airport

Evolvending and prime contractor Canteen have been selected to operate the Non-Traditional Food & Beverage Batch at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The contract, unanimously approved by the Metropolitan Airports Commission on Sept. 22, covers nearly 30 vending locations, according to a LinkedIn post from Evolvending CEO Valentina Ellison.

A phased rollout is scheduled to begin in January 2027 and will introduce automated dining and specialty-brand kiosks throughout the airport. The planned lineup includes airport debuts for TGI Fridays, Twisted Taco and Garbanzo, along with concepts from California Pizza Kitchen, Wow Bao, White Castle and The Amish Pretzels. Ellison described the contract as one of the largest airport solicitations focused on automated foodservice.

Evolvending recently partnered with Denver-based Tres Picosos to open a Tres Locos hot-food kiosk in Terminal 1's Concourse G at MSP. The around-the-clock kiosk serves breakfast burritos, chicken fajita burritos, picadillo beef burritos, pork carnitas burritos and street-style tacos. Tres Locos products are also offered through Evolvending locations at airports in Boston, Charleston, South Carolina and southwest Florida
