A 12-location boutique gym chain in the Denver metropolitan area has replaced an honor-system refrigerator with custom-branded vending machines, generating up to $2,700 in monthly revenue per machine while improving member satisfaction, according to a press release.

The rollout, completed by PeakFuel Vending using Smart Combo machines from VMFS USA, addressed recurring theft and inventory losses associated with the gym's previous self-service refreshment setup.

The cashless vending machines are customized with black wraps to match the gyms' interior design and are integrated with the chain's point-of-sale system, allowing members to make purchases by tapping their gym key fobs. Product offerings were tailored to the fitness market and include cold brew coffee, electrolyte drinks, protein bars and recovery shakes. The first three machines were installed within three weeks, with the full 12-site deployment completed in four months.

PeakFuel Vending said the busiest locations now generate about $2,700 in monthly vending sales, while smaller sites average approximately $1,150 per month. The gym chain has since signed an exclusive five-year vending agreement with the operator and plans to expand the program to two additional locations. PeakFuel also reported the gym's member satisfaction score for on-site nutrition increased from +18 to +44 following the installation.
