Scotland's first flower vending machine has opened in Edinburgh at the St. James Quarter, according to a report in The Herald, offering customers 24-hour access to hand-tied bouquets through a contactless, grab-and-go format. The concept, called Bloom Box, was developed by florist Kayleigh McAllister under her Penelope Fleur business.

The machine stores bouquets at 46.4 degrees Fahrenheit and is stocked daily with arrangements priced between $46 and $86. According to the company, the kiosk has experienced strong early demand, with multiple same-day sellouts and restocking required as many as four times per day. It is currently the only location within St. James Quarter offering round-the-clock flower purchases.

McAllister, who has previously worked in floristry, weddings and corporate event installations, said the goal was to make premium floral arrangements more accessible while maintaining the quality associated with traditional florists. She said Bloom Box was designed to combine convenience with fresh, professionally arranged bouquets available at any hour.

Following the early success of the Edinburgh installation, Bloom Box plans to expand the concept to additional locations across the United Kingdom. The vending machine is located near the Little King Street exit inside St. James Quarter.
