Pittsburgh Regional Transit has begun installing new fare vending machines as part of its 2026 "Ready? Set? Go!" campaign, according to a WPXI News report.
The campaign is designed to help riders transition from the ConnectCard system to the new ReadyFare platform. The transit agency plans to install more than 80 machines, with work expected to continue through late summer.
The new machines will allow riders to purchase ReadyFare cards for $1. PRT said current ConnectCard users will receive either an email or a postcard with instructions on how to request a ReadyFare card. Riders already using the Ready2Ride mobile app will not need to make any changes, as the app runs on the same platform as the new ReadyFare system and will continue to support fare payments.
