An ice cream store in St. Michael, Minnesota, now offers its wares 24/7 in an outdoor ice cream vending machine, according to a Press & News report.
The Fastcorp machine has been branded for the store under its name, "What's the Scoop?"
The customer selects their desired flavor and the internal freezer opens to allow the robotic suction claw to reach in and retrieve a pint. The claw then places the pint in the delivery slot for the customer to take.
If a flavor is out of stock, the machine cancels the order and allows the customer to select another.
Installed in December, the machine sold out in its first four days.
The indoor service is not open during the winter, but the vending machine is open year round.
