Lavazza Professional is rolling out more than 600 self-service coffee machines across Motor Fuel Group locations in the United Kingdom under a new partnership between the companies, according to a press release. The Lavazza On the Move rollout is expected to be completed by spring 2027, with MFG becoming the first U.K. operator to introduce Lavazza Professional's new Coffee Essence machine. Customers will be able to choose from two coffee blends and customize drinks with options including syrups and extra shots.

The partnership expands MFG's coffee offering across its network of forecourts and convenience stores, where the company serves about 25 million cups annually. MFG CEO William Bannister said the companies worked together to develop the new coffee program as food-to-go becomes increasingly important to forecourt operators. Industry research cited by Global Coffee Report found that 84% of U.K. forecourt operators consider food-to-go extremely or very important to their businesses over the next five years.

Lavazza Professional U.K. Market Director Ken MacIsaac said MFG's scale will allow the company to bring its coffee to a broader customer base while improving operational efficiency for the retailer. The offering also includes decaffeinated coffee, expanding the range available to customers. Lavazza Professional said the program is designed to balance greater consumer choice with a more efficient coffee-to-go operation for its retail partners.
