The World Video Game Hall of Fame has named its 2021 inductees: Animal Crossing, Microsoft Flight Simulator, StarCraft and Where in the World Is Carmen Santiego?
The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York announced the inductees and has them on permanent view on the museum's second floor. Final selections are made on the advice of journalists, scholars and other individuals familiar with the history of video games and their role in society.
The four games emerged from a field of finalists that also included: Call of Duty, FarmVille, FIFA International Soccer, Guitar Hero, Mattel Football, Pole Position, Portal and Tron, according to a press release.
The World Video Game Hall of Fame at The Strong was established in 2015 to recognize individual electronic games of all types — arcade, console, computer, handheld and mobile.
