A Spanish airline worker purchased a cup of coffee from a vending machine at Son Sant Joan airport near Palma, Majorca, earlier this month and went into anaphylactic shock from insects that were in the coffee, according to a PYOK news report.

The 21-year-old initially noticed an odd taste before noticing the insects in the cup. She then started to suffer a severe allergic reaction as her face and throat started to swell, according to the news outlet.

Medics then delivered shots of adrenaline to counter the anaphylaxis before bringing her to the local hospital where she was treated in the ICU. After 36 hours in the hospital, she was well enough to be discharged and her family lodged a complaint with the police for a public health crime, according to the news outlet. The machine has since been shut down.
