Will the coronavirus pandemic inspire interest in in-flight vending machines? Benjii Stawski, a contributor to a thepointsguy.com, raised the question in an article this week. Such concepts allow passengers to order meals and snacks on their phone, then pick them up at the in-flight vending machine.
Stawski cited a concept created last year by Nordam, an aerospace company, called skEYE-Vend, which allows passengers to browse the machine's inventory on an app, which would also be used to access the machine.
The Nordam conept made it to the finals of the Crystal CabinAwards last year that honors innovations for inside aircraft cabins.
