Water station refreshes PGA Championship attendees

Attendees at the 2022 BMW PGA Championship at London's Wentworth Club refreshed themselves at the Bluewater Wall of Water, a large water station with water purifiers and dispensers with a water delivery rate designed to reduce queuing times, according to a press release.

The water station from Bluewater, based in Stockholm, Sweden, featured remineralizing technology for improved taste, digital signage and TV screens displaying event-specific notifications and promotional messaging.

During the championship, Bluewater water stations dispensed some 6,561 liters of water — which equates to ensuring 17,122 500-milliliter, single-use plastic bottles that did not end up in landfills or oceans.

"This summer saw Bluewater hydration solutions used at a series of top golfing events, including The Open, the AIG Women's Open, the Senior Open Presented by Rolex and the Genesis Scottish Open, where we harnessed our event, venue and festival hydration ecosphere to ensure fans enjoyed water as pure as nature intended," Philip Russell, Bluewater U.K. managing director, said in the press release.
