Water-rights activists oppose Nestle sale of Poland Springs

Water-rights activists in Maine are opposing Nestle's potential sale of Poland Spring and other bottled water brands to private-equity firm One Rock Capital Partners LLC, a New York-based private-equity firm, according to a Bangor Daily News report.

Nickie Sekera, co-founder of Community Water Justice, said the acquisition will relieve the company of accountability promised to Maine.

The company did not respond to a request for comment.
