Visitors to Magic Kingdom Park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, between March 23 to April 23 will be able to gain admission using facial recognition technology, according to the Walt Disney World Resort website.

The technology captures an image of a guest's face and converts it into a unique number and associates it with the form of admission being used for park entry.

Participation is optional. Persons interested in volunteering to participate need a valid theme park admission and a Disney Park Pass reservation. There will be a separate admission line for facial recognition testing.

Guests will face the camera and position their park admission or MagicBrand close to the scanner which will capture an image and convert it into a number.

The company has implemented security measures to protect guest information from unauthorized access. Images and associated numbers will be discarded within 30 days after the test concludes.
Children under the age of 18 who wish to participate may do so with the consent and in the presence of a parent or guardian.
