Voltage Nexus launches portable battery rental kiosk network

Voltage Nexus has launched a U.S. network of kiosks that rent portable power banks to consumers at restaurants, entertainment venues, shopping destinations and other high-traffic locations, according to a press release. The Ocala, Florida-based company plans to expand through a combination of company-operated kiosks and independent partners. Partners can purchase and place kiosks at host businesses while sharing in the revenue generated at those locations. Founder Mitchell Tucker said the distributed model is intended to create a recognizable charging network that becomes more useful as locations are added.

The kiosks also feature digital displays that can carry location-based advertising. Voltage Nexus said its model is designed to give consumers convenient charging, provide venues with an added amenity and create opportunities for advertisers and kiosk operators. The company is beginning its initial U.S. rollout and plans to grow through venue relationships and its partner network.
