Vending machines at the University of North Carolina will join other public universities in offering over-the-counter medication in vending machines around campus as a convenience, according to a report in The Daily Tar Heel, the campus newspaper. The first such machine is on the main floor of the Student Union.
Medications will include Acetaminophen/Tylenol, Ibuprofen, cough and cold medications and allergy medications like Claritin and Zyrtec. Self-care items like lip balm, Kleenex and Band-Aids will also be available in the vending machines.
The prices will range between $2 and $15 and will be payable via the school's OneCard.
Florida State University and Arizona State University are among other public universities with similar machines.
