Vending machine thefts under investigation in northeast Mississippi

Authorities in northeast Mississippi are investigating a series of vending machine thefts, according to a WTVA report.

One incident took place on Dec. 7 at Brewer Grocery in Shannon. Surveillance footage captured an individual breaking into a soda machine and stealing the cash inside.

Similar thefts have been reported in Nettleton, Aberdeen and Hamilton. Law enforcement believes the crimes may be connected, as the thieves used similar methods to break into the machines, including drills and other power tools.

The Lee County Sheriff's Department is asking anyone with information to come forward.
