A cupcake shop in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina has been replaced by a vending machine featuring a video screen that welcomes customers, according to a wilmingtonbiz.com report.
Tabitha Meready closed the The Peppered Cupcake store during the pandemic, reopened, then closed again in July when an employee left.
Two months later, Meready installed a vending machine offering a limited menu of the items available at the Racine Commons store, which serves 25 flavors per day.
The refrigerated machine offers six flavors packaged in a plastic shell with a disposable spoon.
