Vending machine in The Bronx offers fresh food for food insecure families

A vending machine in The Bronx in NYC offers vegetables, proteins and eggs at no cost to food insecure families, according to a UnionRayo report.

The vending machine, from NGO Change for Good, offers food grown by young agricultural workers in local hydroponic gardens. It's a trust-based model — if you need food, you can take it at no charge.

The vending machine was first installed in the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club and has provided more than 7,000 kilos of food to more than 1,100 families.
