Wellness 4 Humanity's vending machines offering at-home COVID-19 tests are now available in New York City, providing a convenient way for people who want to test themselves compared to pharmacy drive-thrus, according to a New York Post report.
The test kits cost $149 from the machines, which only accept credit or debit cards. The test kit includes PCR saliva test, which the user sends to one of the company's partner labs via FedEx with a pre-printed label. The company then texts the results within 48 hours.
The test kits are not FDA approved, but researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center found a self-collected saliva sample to be as accurate as a nasal swab administered by a health care worker.
