ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL -- Unified Strategies Group has published a comprehensive micromarket merchandising roadmap for its membership.
The purchasing cooperative said the project has been in the works for about nine months and is based on its micromarket data and a thorough analysis of the data by seven USG supplier partners. Comparative studies were done using data from other retail segments such as convenience and drug stores.
The USG roadmap sets a basic plan for the general micromarket layout, specific beverage planograms based on beverage cooler ownership, cold and frozen food recommendations and specific product suggestions for various snack categories.
USG said it took a standard retail approach, using seven manufacturers as "category captains" for one or more categories. The USG recommendations are designed for a "generic kiosk" and can be employed by members using any of the kiosks available to the industry.
USG's Micro Market Merchandising Roadmap is exclusively available to its members by visiting the USG website and then clicking on the Sales, Training & Merchandising tile.
The Arlington Heights, IL-based buying group said it plans to continue testing various merchandising concepts via its network of nearly 5,000 connected micromarket kiosks.
