The U.S. convenience services industry, encompassing vending, micro-markets, office coffee and pantry services, produces a $40.04 billion annual economic impact, according to a report released by the Foundation of the National Automatic Merchandising Association.
The study, conducted by John Dunham & Associates, provides a comprehensive economic analysis of the sector, revealing that it supports 165,300 jobs nationwide. The report quantifies the industry's total output, employment figures, labor income and tax contributions across all 50 states.
Operating in diverse locations such as offices, schools, hospitals and transit hubs, the convenience services industry includes a wide range of businesses from small, family-owned operations to national brands.
"This report confirms what NAMA members already know and understand — convenience services is an industry that empowers local economies, meets consumer needs and creates meaningful jobs in every state," Carla Balakgie, President and CEO of NAMA said in a press release on the findings.
