CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -- Vend Natural said it has been selected to provide all vending services to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville -- not only its standard "healthy" machines, but also Coke, Pepsi and other traditional fare. The Annapolis, MD-based company said it will operate the traditional vending machines in partnership with "a leader in the food services industry."

Vend Natural installed its own "healthy" machines and program at the University of Virginia last October. The dual-temperature venders carry snacks and refrigerated drinks that are natural and organic, including gluten-free, sugar-free, high-protein and lower-fat products as well as fresh fruits, yogurt, fruit smoothies, cottage cheese and hummus.

Vend Natural will also be providing Evive Station beverage kiosks throughout the grounds. These machines are capable of cleaning a patron's reusable bottle and refilling it with the patron's choice of purified, chilled water or a fruit-infused flavored water. It will also provide Rubi gourmet coffee machines, made by Seattle's Feniks Inc., on campus.

The healthy vending franchisor says it operates in 14 states.
