BALTIMORE -- The amusement machine manufacturer known for its novel dance games is now offering a drumming-themed redemption piece. Unit-e's World's Fastest Drummer challenges players to drum as fast as they can to score points. The game was created in conjunction with the organization of the same name that produces competitions for the extreme sport of drumming. Visit worldsfastestdrummer.com to learn more.

Unit-e's intuitive game features a pair of LED-illuminated snare drums, tethered sticks and a 24" HD screen. The length of play can be adjusted for 20 or 30 seconds; in "pro" mode, the interval is extended to 60 seconds.

"It's one of those games in which players try to beat their friends' high score, and in that way it's similar to a punching-bag game," said Unit-e's Eric Yockey. "It's a piece for all ages and genders. Everyone knows how to drum, so they don't need a tutorial. So it's easy to pick up and play, even if you've never drummed before."

The new skill game is similar to dance-themed amusements that attract two different audience types: dedicated fans and casual players.

Tickets are dispensed according to drumming speed, which is calculated by the World's Fastest Drummer's patented Drumometer, not musical talent. Scores are automatically collected and charted online. More experienced players can enter their names and scores by scanning a QR code link on the machine. If a player hits a milestone, such as "Fastest Drummer in Maryland," it will be displayed on the screen during gameplay. Plans call for an interactive element between stored score data and gameplay.

Measuring in at a surprisingly slim 30" W. x 33" D. x 94" H., Unit-e's World's Fastest Drummer has operator adjustable controls and features, including drum height and the aforementioned 60-second long "pro mode."
