Unique vending machine spreads holiday cheer in Maui

As the holiday season approaches, Whalers Village, in Maui, Hawaii, is introducing a vending strategy to give back to the community.

The Giving Machine is a vending machine that allows visitors and residents to donate to local charities by purchasing virtual goods like food, clothing and hygiene items, according to a Maui Now report.

The initiative, a collaboration with 18 local charities, aims to make charitable giving more accessible and interactive. All funds raised on Maui will directly benefit local organizations such as Imua Family Services, Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Friends of the Children's Justice Center, Maui Food Bank and Salvation Army Hawaiʻi.

The official launch of the Maui machine will take place on November 21.
