Octane Coffee, a startup, recently held a grand opening for its standalone, automated drive-thru coffee store in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The store opened in May to test its equipment.

Customers can place an order using the company's app. The system uses GPS to determine how long it will take the customer to reach the store and determines the best time to start preparing the order. Upon arrival at the pickup window, the customer scans a QR code and the kiosk automatically delivers the beverage.

Owner Adrian Deasy received support from the Wisconsin Venture Capital and angel investment firms Lancaster Investments and the Tundra Angels.
