UKs Vending Industry Honors Innovation With Vendies Azkoyen Group Is Among 2017 Award Winners

LONDON -- For the fifth consecutive year,
Azkoyen Group, under its UK brand Coffetek, is one of the winners of Britain's 2017 Vending Industry Awards, better known as "The Vendies." Based in Navarra, Spain, Azkoyen manufactures vending machines and electronic payment, control and security solutions. It announced it was
opening a U.S. office earlier this year.
The Vendies are presented by the UK's Vending International magazine and the European Drinking Water Cooler Association. The
2017 presentation took place in June at London's Millennim Gloucester Hotel. The awards recognize the success and innovation of the companies and individuals in the UK's vending industry, and the winners are decided solely by the vote of trade members.
Azkoyen won in the Best Machine Innovation category for its new Vitro M3 espresso machine for the office coffee service sector. It uses fresh milk to prepare authentic cappuccinos and lattes, among other specialty drinks. The company also won the Vendie for Best Online Initiative of the Year for its customer Web service.
"Azkoyen Group is very grateful to the industry for its ongoing support and recognition," said Tim Antonissen, sales director for Azkoyen's vending business "Both awards have emboldened us to pursue and continue innovating our products and services."
The Vendies were presented in 17 categories, with a winner and "highly commended" runner up in each. Westomatic Vending Services is the runner up in the Best Machine Innovation category for its Coffee to Go with Milkshakes. UVendco UK's 24U earned the honor in the Best Online Initiative of the Year category.
Other winners are Nayax's VPOS for Payment System of the Year; Suzo Happ's WorldKey Loyalty earned the highly commended distinction in the category. Lavazza is the Vendie Hot Beverage Brand of the Year and Birchall Tea is highly commended in the category.
The Snack and Confectionery Product of the Year winner is Burts Potato Chips for its Levi Roots Reggae Reggae chips; Mr Lee's Cup Noodles -- 6 Flavors from Mr Lee's Pure Foods is the highly commended award recipient.
Simens Financial Services is the Vendie Customer Service Award; Westomatic Vending Services wins the highly commended distinction for its Westomatic Front Line Staff.
The Best Ancillary winner is SB Software for its Vendmanager software, and Westomatic Vending Services takes second place with highly commended recognition for its refurbishment services.
Westomatic Vending Services' Primo Touch is the Best New Product Vendie recipient and Coffeetek Ltd. takes highly commended honors in the category for its Vitro Series hot beverage systems.
Express Vending is Operator of the Year and VH Graddon & Sons Vending is the highly commended winner in the category.
Winner of the Best Newcomer category is Mr. Lee's Pure Foods for its noodle miosks and Macchiavalley UK takes the highly commended honor.
Service Engineer of the Year is Dave Grist of Express Vending; Mark McCluskey of Uvenco UK is the highly commended honoree.
Joanna Cunliffe, Uvenco UK, is Route Operator of the Year; the highly commended recognition goes to Sabrina Davis, Express Vending.
Express Vending is the winner of the Marketing Campaign of the Year award, and Mr. Lee's Noodles is the highly commended winner.
The Best Quality Service award goes to David Hilton of Maestro Pressure Coolers; the highly commended recipient is Ray Swann of Swithland Spring Waters
In the pure water service category, the Best Quality Service Award winner is David Hilton of Maestro Pressure Coolers, and the highly commended honoree is Ray Swann of Swithland Spring Waters.
The Best Environmental Initiative award goes to AA First for its Arctic Star 55 with ECO Mode. Taking the Best Innovation of the Year category is Alfred Karcher GmbH & Co for its WPD 100/200/600 Advanced filter and H20 Direct is the highly commended award recipient for its IEN Range of filters.
