Farmers in the U.K. have taken the lead marketing their wares in vending machines, but a trio of poultry farmers in Derbyshire have taken it to a new level with a 69-foot long machine containing 400 compartments, according to a Daily Mail report.
The machine, which the article describes as Europe's largest automated store, is located in a formerly unused chicken shed at Betty's Farm.
Customers select their purchases on a touchscreen and pay with a contactless card, after which a compartment door opens and allows them to pick up their purchased items.
Products include fresh meat, tea, bread, butter chutneys, salads, ice cream, cakes, pies, sausage rolls and jam.
The machine is powered by wind turbines and solar panels.
