A local government in Wales, U.K., has discovered cross contamination of products in hot beverage vending machines, according to a newfoodmagazine.com report. The Torfaen County Boroughs Council investigated 10 businesses with hot beverage machines from April to September, 2020, and found cross contamination with milk and improper provision of allergen information.
Laboratory tests from all locations showed that two of the drinks that were not supposed to have milk included milk levels high enough to cause a reaction in people with allergies.
Half the locations did not meet requirements for providing allergen information. These businesses provided information that was either inadequate, incorrect or difficult to case.
