UK entrepreneur rolls out vending machine for baby necessities

A Dundee, Scotland, entrepreneur has launched what she believes is the U.K.'s first vending machine dedicated to baby essentials, according to a Yahoo News report, offering parents a convenient way to purchase emergency supplies while away from home.

Installed at the entrance to the baby changing facilities at Dundee's Overgate shopping center, the Busy Baby Vending machine stocks individually wrapped diapers, wipes, disposable bibs, baby snacks and ready-to-drink infant formula.

Founder Bianca Cockburn said the idea grew from her own experiences of forgetting essential items while out with her young children. After researching the concept and finding no similar businesses in the U.K., she invested in a vending machine and partnered with Overgate to bring the service to market. Following a strong initial response from shoppers, Cockburn said she plans to expand the concept to additional locations.
