SANTA MONICA, CA -- U-Vend has formed a new division called VendTel Express, and has partnered with Ingram Micro Canada to sell cellphones and accessories to Canadian consumers through vending machines.
As part of the agreement, Toronto-based Ingram Micro Canada will market, sell and support U-Vend's new line of cellphone venders throughout Canada. IMC specializes in providing mobility, cloud and supply chain solutions to its business partners.
The machines will carry new, brand-name cellphones and be available in both floor and countertop models. All of the phones will be sold without a SIM card or long-term contract, allowing patrons to have their new mobile devices activated at a carrier of their choice. The machines will be equipped with integrated digital screens that will display product information and advertising.
U-Vend will provide the installation, location staff training, inventory control, reporting and kiosk maintenance on IMC's behalf. It will also manage the integrated digital advertising screens from a central location.
Santa Monica, CA-based U-Vend said it plans to expand the cellphone venders to all of North America in the near future. Its focus thus far has been operating dedicated, branded Mini Melts USA, Del Monte and Arthur's Smoothies vending machines.
