U-Vend Continues Mini-Melts Expansion Into Southern California

SANTA MONICA, CA -- U-Vend Inc. said it has taken delivery of its next round of self-serve Mini-Melts vending machines for the southern California market.

In October, the company secured territory operating rights from Mini Melts USA Inc. (Norwich, CT) for the southern California and Las Vegas regions. It initially launched its Mini-Melts machines in Chicago.

"I believe that the SoCal region alone constitutes a multimillion dollar opportunity, consisting of not only our self-serve kiosk network, but also the tremendous prospects we have identified in the wholesale markets for both Mini-Melts and the other products in our portfolio," said U-Vend chief executive Raymond Meyers.

He said the company's goal this year is to increase its installed base by a minimum of 100 vending machines throughout the two new territories.

The company also said it's in the final stage of development of its next-generation vending machines, which employ touchscreens and digital product catalogs.They feature an integrated content management system that allows the operator to go online and check sales, bank deposits, inventory controls, change advertisements and promotions on the digital screen, and reorder new stock.
