Tyson Foods Inc. is considering discontinuing operations at its Wrexham, U.K. processing facility, according to an email sent to Vending Times. The proposed plan is based on a combination of factors including the ability to generate profitable growth and to adapt to shifting customer needs.

"We are currently consulting with our team members in Wrexham about the proposal to discontinue operations on 30 September 2020," Hi Yang, an international communications representative said in the email.

Foodmanufacture.co.uk said in a report Wednesday that Tyson was cutting 71 jobs, but Yang said the matter was under consideration.
