Tyson Foods employees by the hundreds bolt rather than relocate

Hundreds of Tyson Foods Inc. employees plan to leave the company as it consolidates its corporate offices to northwest Arkansas, according to a Marketwatch report.

The company noted in October that it will close its Chicago, Downers Grove, Illinois and Dakota Dunes, South Dakota offices housing about 1,000 corporate employees in its beef, pork and prepared foods divisions.

Workers were given until Nov. 14 to decide to relocate to the Springdale, Arkansas headquarters early next year.

More than 90% of the employees at the Chicago office said they would not relocate, as did about three-quarters of the 500 employees at the South Dakota office.
