PHILADELPHIA -- The Tri-State Automatic Merchandising Council will hold its John Boyle Scholarship golf tournament and dinner meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Bala Golf Club here. The 2017 gala will be the seventh staging of the tournament. The John Boyle Scholarship supports continuing education for Tri-State members.

This year's event will introduce a new schedule. Golf check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. for the shotgun start at 10 a.m. Lunch will be available on the golf course. An open board meeting is set for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a reception. The dinner and membership meeting will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The registration fee for golf, lunch and dinner is $185, or $75 for dinner only. Registration details will be published during the week of Aug. 20.

The John J. Boyle Scholarship Fund was initiated by the Tri-State AMC to honor the memory of the 40-year industry veteran who began his distinguished career with the Macke Co. During those four decades, Boyle was twice the recipient of the NAMA Legislative Award (1989 and 1998) and was cited by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for dedication and distinguished service to the food and beverage vending industry. The Pennsylvania Senate also awarded him a proclamation for his exemplary record of service, leadership and achievements in keeping with the highest ideals and traditions of the Commonwealth.

The Tri-State AMC, a National Automatic Merchandising Association affiliated state council, incorporates the former Automatic Merchandising Council of New Jersey and Pennsylvania Automatic Merchandising Council. It represents the vending and office refreshments industry in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
