NEW YORK CITY -- Digital jukebox giant TouchTunes has kicked off the second installment of its Breakout Band contest. It's designed to give unsigned artists across the country a chance to win a prize package that includes a live audition with an artists-andÂ-repertoire executive at Warner Bros. Records, $3,000 and a music promotion on TouchTunes.
In addition, Warner Bros. recording artists will lend their expertise to help determine the winner.
Nearly 300 bands and solo artists from across the country have been added to the TouchTunes' network, and are being promoted nationally on the contest-themed playlist. Fans of participating bands are encouraged to download the TouchTunes mobile app, find nearby locations and drop in to blast their favorite band's music at their preferred hangout.
Fans can also browse artists, "like" their music favorites and stream songs directly on the competition's official website -- touchtunesbreakoutband.com.
TouchTunes introduced the Breakout Band contest two years ago. The winner of that first competition was country and rock singer Clark Manson, whose hit single "I'm On It" took first place with TouchTunes patrons. He released a new single, "Track 9," on TouchTunes jukeboxes in mid-2015. | SEE STORY
