TouchTunes and AMI Entertainment Network are no longer exploring a merger that would have created the largest digital jukebox network after government regulators requested a more detailed review.
"After conducting several weeks of initial research, the government is asking for a much more detailed and lengthy review that could take up to 18 months," Mike Maas, CEO of AMI Entertainment Network, wrote in a letter addressed to operators and shared with Vending Times. "As a result, we have decided, with TouchTunes, to end the process and to remain as separate companies."
The companies announced they were exploring a merger on May 6.
