Timezone Indonesia Expands Super-Flagship Entertainment Center In Jakarta Mall

JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Timezone Indonesia has expanded its flagship center in Supermall Karawaci, which opened 15 years ago. The original area had been 3,184 sq. meters (34,273 sq. ft.) with a ceiling height of 15m. (nearly 50 ft.). It now provides 4,402 sq. meters (47,383 sq. ft.) of floor space with an 18m. ceiling (almost 60 ft.), making it the biggest Timezone facility in Southeast Asia. The new family entertainment center, known as the Super-flagship FEC, is called Timezone Adrenaline.

"This is the largest single investment ever made in any one of our more than 100 outlets in Indonesia, and reflects ongoing confidence in the future growth of the economy in Indonesia," said Timezone Indonesia chief executive David Dale. Timezone Group chief executive Sonaal Chopra added that the expansion is a major step in the organization's objective of being "catalysts of change" and leaders in developing unique consumer experiences.

Timezone reported that the number of shopping malls in the Jakarta metropolitan area continues to grow. "They are the venues for people to socialize, relax, 'be seen' and look for various forms of entertainment," the company explained -- and those people tend to visit in family-and-friends groups. This has increased competition for entertainment dollars, and Timezone is responding with broad-spectrum innovation that addresses Indonesia's increasingly sophisticated and growing middle class.

The Supermall Karawaci center's horizontal and vertical expansions accommodate the new 12-seat Drop & Double Twist Tower (nearly 60 ft. high), as well as the 16-seat Techno-Fly and Kangaroo Bounce and the 240-seat Demolition Derby rides. The original space now houses 17 more rides and attractions, including the "iconic" roller coaster, and the facility boasts 371 games.

The initial design concept for the new Timezone Adrenaline large-footprint destination was provided by KCC, a Belgium-based family entertainment center development firm.
