Time Crisis 5 Arcade Viddie Features New Dual Pedal System

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- The 19-year-old Time Crisis arcade videogame franchise is about to get a breath of fresh air -- as if it even needed one. Since its debut in 1996, Bandai-Namco's light rail shooter has been an arcade staple worldwide, boasting action-packed gameplay, memorable villains and a distinctive foot pedal system.

Bandai-Namco says Time Crisis fans have been asking if and when an installment will be released. The answer is now. Namco is reportedly taking preorders for Time Crisis 5's early spring shipment.

Time Crisis 5 includes a dual pedal system. This new feature allows players to attack the enemy from two separate positions by stepping on either the left or right foot pedal. In gameplay, strategy will be important, Bandai-Namco explained, as players will need to use the pedals to maneuver different angles to avoid enemy fire and gain advantageous attack positions.

The game's controllers have also been updated. Time Crisis 5 features a weapon-toggle button, enabling players to switch ordnances during battle. Its updated gun recoil mechanism is said to ensure a strong feedback response for players, and is expected to reduce maintenance requirements for operators.
