Texas store offers pecan pie vending machine

The Berdoll Pecan Candy and Gift Co. in Cedar Creek, Texas offers full pecan pies in a vending machine, according to a mysanantonio.com report.

The machine, installed in 2008 by owner Jennifer Wammack whose parents own the store, offers a full-sized pecan pie for $30, payable by credit card.

The pie is cold to the touch, thanks to the cooling coils behind the machine and double-paned glass that keeps the pies fresh.

The machine was custom built to include air conditioning by a local manufacturer.

Wammack gets a daily report at 8 p.m. letting her know what needs restocking and what pies were purchased.

The company has added a second machine in Austin.
