Texas manufacturer repositions machines for Narcan dispensing

Mechanism Exchange & Repair, a Yoakum, Texas based equipment maker, has repositioned its book share and food share vending machines for dispensing free Narcan, a nasal spray that reverses opioid overdoses, according to a Victoria Advocate report.

"The PorchBox" has been installed nationwide at festivals, bars, churches, college campuses and marijuana dispensaries.

The PorchBox costs $300 to $400, does not require electricity and can be moved as needed.

Harm Reduction Michigan has 50 such machines on location and plans to order 100 more.
