Temple University students now have access to a vending machine that dispenses emergency contraception pills, according to the campus publication Temple Update, marking the first such initiative on campus.
The machine was installed at the Essential Needs Hub by Planned Parenthood Generation Action at Temple to improve students' access to reproductive health resources.
PPGTU President Rika Poscover said the goal is to reduce stigma surrounding emergency contraception and help prevent unintended pregnancies. She emphasized the initiative aims to support both men and women in situations where contraception is needed. University ID holders receive a 35-cent monthly credit that can be used to access the machine.
